U16s

A warm welcome to all those returning members and any potential new members to the 2019 season.

We’re planning another great year with this age group building on the successes of last season.

We have entered the NEC U16 League in 2019. Matches start post GSCSE exams in June, games will be mid-week evening fixtures and 20 overs, it’s a restricted season and that’s reflected in the reduced Playing membership fee    ( see fee scale in the ‘Join Us’ tab under Junior Membership).

Our training night will be Thursday evening at the main club ground in Poplar Rd, this is also the Senior squads training night, therefore we will have useful cross-over with the boys mixing with the Senior XI captains ( the senior club will field 5 sides at Senior level in 2019) ie plenty of opportunity for our players to get themselves noticed and to be ‘called-up’ to play senior cricket at the weekends.

All juniors can take advantage of the fantastic new nets complex (4 lanes, completely enclosed), a £70K+ investment (majority funded by cricket members fundraising) which will be open for all paid-up Junior members to use ( obviously scheduled age group training nights or pre-booked rental will have precedence). What better way to let-off some steam between depressing bouts of desk-based revision! Or to while-away the long summer days post exams.
