The U15’s will run two sides again this season one in the NEC(North East Surrey) league and the other in the MSL (Mid Surrey) league. Matches for both teams are played on Sunday mornings. The teams are not ‘fixed’ with both sides using 15-18 players from the squad over the course of last season, with everyone getting the chance to play on match-days at some point in the season.
The aim is always to play juniors at the level they are able and happy to play at. In 2017 we had at least 8 members of the squad (then U14) invited to play Senior cricket on occasions, this is something we actively encourage if ability and attitude permit.
Managers and Coaches are trying to in-still a love of the game that sees our young men improve and eventually move up to play and (more importantly) enjoy senior cricket for many years to come.
Training is held at Rutlish School and uses both the all-weather pitch and the nets every week. Our Professional level 3 Coach Eranga Mendis (Ex Sri Lanka Pro: look him up on you tube) is strict, fair, knowledgeable and commands respect from the squad. We follow a planned weekly programme covering both skills and game strategy over the summer.
If you are looking for a friendly forward thinking club come on down to training and see if you like it: all abilities welcome. We are happy to offer a couple of weeks as a trial for new players before they commit to full membership so don’t hesitate to get in contact.
Training starts late April and thereafter every Thursday?
